The homeowner decided to replace their windows because they live in the hot desert climate and the old windows did not do a good job in keeping the heat out. After the installation the new windows are performing well. They are able to withstand the heat and do a good job keeping their summer electric bills low. The electric bills are now considerably lower that before the window replacement.
